Itinerary

Arrival in Istanbul. Transfer to the hotel and overnight stay. 

(BREAKFAST – LUNCH – DINNER) (SUNDAY – THURSDAY)  Breakfast and morning departure to Ankara, passing through the Bolu mountains. In Ankara, we visit the Ataturk Mausoleum, inaugurated in 1953 and dedicated to the founder of modern Turkey. It is a marble block with 40-ton columns, reached by a long avenue lined with lions and ending in a vast square. Lunch at a local restaurant. We then continue towards Cappadocia, visiting Salt Lake along the way. Arrival, dinner, and overnight stay at the hotel. 

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to this fascinating region with a unique landscape formed by lava from Mount Erciyes and Hasan around 3 million years ago. Visit to the Goreme Open-Air Museum, an incredible Byzantine monastic complex with rock-carved churches and beautiful frescoes. We will visit the Avcilar and Güvercinlik Valleys, with their spectacular landscapes of the so-called Fairy Chimneys. Lunch at a local restaurant during the visit. We continue to Pasabag Valley or Çavuşin. During the excursion, we will also have the chance to visit typical carpet, onyx, and turquoise workshops, known for quality and good prices. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Cappadocia.  During your stay in Cappadocia, you will have the option to attend a folkloric dance show in a traditional cave with unlimited local drinks, and to take an optional hot air balloon ride at sunrise. 

15 KG allowed weight for checked baggage  (BREAKFAST)  Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport (Kayseri/Nevşehir) for a domestic flight to Istanbul. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in Istanbul. 

(BREAKFAST)  Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we will enjoy one of Istanbul’s most famous activities: a boat ride along the Bosphorus, the strait that separates Europe and Asia. Along the way, we’ll see the Sultans’ Palace, historic wooden houses, and experience history from a different perspective. We’ll end the day with a visit to the Spice Bazaar, established by the Ottomans five centuries ago and still in use today. Free time. End of the tour at the Egyptian Bazaar. 

Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport for the flight to Cairo. 
Our Spanish-speaking representative will be waiting for you at Cairo International Airport with a NILOMEX TOURS sign. Visa assistance, luggage collection, and transfer in a private air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel.

Overnight at the hotel. 

Breakfast at the hotel and tour in Cairo:  Departure for the visit to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Pyramids of Giza: Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure; the Sphinx (with the body of a lion and the face of a pharaoh); and the Valley Temple.  Optional visit (with additional cost) to Memphis and Sakkara, taking us back nearly 5,000 years of history. Sakkara is the oldest necropolis in Egypt, where we can visit the Step Pyramid of Zoser, the first pyramid in history, as well as the tombs of the nobles.  Lunch at a local restaurant. Optional stop at a papyrus workshop along the way. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.  Optional evening activity: Sound and Light Show. 

Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, departure for a full-day tour in Cairo. Transfer in a private air-conditioned vehicle to visit: 

  • The Egyptian Museum, home to the largest collection of monuments from Ancient Egypt, including the treasures of Tutankhamun 
  • The Citadel of Saladin, built in 1138 A.D. on Mokattam Mountain to defend Cairo from the Crusades 
  • The Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali, designed by Turkish architect Yousif Boushnaq, who came from Istanbul to build the mosque for King Mohamed Ali, ruler of Egypt for over 45 years (1805–1849) 

Lunch at a local restaurant during the visits.  Visit to Old Cairo, including the Hanging Church, Church of Saint Barbara, Church of Saint Sergius, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. We’ll end the visit at Khan El Khalili Bazaar, one of the oldest and most famous bazaars in the Middle East. Return to the hotel. 

Breakfast at the hotel. Optional full-day excursion to Alexandria, Egypt’s second capital (approx. 3-hours), for an additional cost of 150 USD per person, including lunch.  Alexandria, founded by Alexander the Great in 332 B.C., is famous for its ancient library and lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. In the 19th century, it became a commercial and maritime hub.  We begin the tour at Pompey’s Pillar, made of red granite from the Aswan quarries, measuring 30 meters high. This column is located within an archaeological park where excavation work is still ongoing. Next, a panoramic view of the Citadel of Qaitbay, built in 1480 by Sultan Quaitbay. We’ll also visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, dating from the 1st and 2nd centuries discovered in 1892, with tunnels and carved niches.  Lunch at a local restaurant. Exterior visit to the New Library of Alexandria, inaugurated on October 16, 2002 and promoted by UNESCO. Return to Cairo in the afternoon. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay.
